U14 Basketball Takes CISAA Silver
The U14 Basketball team showcased resilience and determination at the Final Four Championships hosted by Greenwood College School. After a commanding win over Hillfield Strathallan School in the semi-finals, the Cygnets faced a nail-biting showdown against Greenwood in the finals.
The game was a battle from start to finish. Tied 16-16 at halftime, the team displayed exceptional teamwork, highlighted by Leah’s strategic ball movement, which set up Cynthia for a clutch three-pointer to close the third quarter at 26-24. With Anna and Sophia’s tenacious defence and Ava’s graceful lay-ups, the game was again tied at 32-32 with just 10 seconds on the clock. Despite their best efforts, Greenwood edged ahead with a single free throw to claim the victory.
The Cygnets end their season with a well-earned silver medal and heads held high. We couldn’t be more proud of the entire team’s effort. Great work, Cygnets!
