Associate Director, Retail Operations

We invite applications for a full-time opportunity at St. Andrew’s College and St. Anne’s School as Associate Director, Retail Operations, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
 
The Associate Director, Retail Operations oversees the stores’ retail strategy and operations. Working with the CFO, the Associate Director will set an annual budget and profit margin targets and report inventory twice yearly.
 
This role is responsible for vetting suppliers and vendors for all items carried in the two Campus Shops, including school uniforms, textbooks, spirit and athletic gear, and giftware. The Associate Director will research trends to inform the creative design and styles carried. This position will lead the daily operations and adherence to school policy and will oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of store staff. As the lead, the Associate Director will champion customer service initiatives to elevate the shopping experience for families.
 
Ideal candidates hold a post-secondary education and a minimum of five years of retail management experience, preferably in an independent school environment. We seek tech-savvy candidates who have worked with inventory management systems, point-of-sale systems, online ordering, and forecasting. Experience with contract negotiations, inventory management, and supervising and scheduling part-time staff are requirements. We seek candidates who understand and can support the seasonality of the academic schedule, including attending key events outside of regular business hours.
